It’s inspiring to see our favorite childhood characters set a good example for people to see.
Recently, Elmo from the popular show Sesame Street helped a rescued puppy find a family. Here’s a detailed account of how that event came to fruition.
Elmo went to an animal shelter to see and interact with different dogs. While there, he became interested in one particular beagle named Theo. At that time, the puppy wasn’t feeling well, so Elmo played a huge role in making him feel better.
Elmo made sure to follow a checklist of what to do to make Theo happy. First, he made sure the dog got a lot of exercise. He also gave Theo some toys to keep him engaged, preventing boredom. Finally, Elmo made sure to give Theo lots of love.
Elmo found a family that was the perfect candidate to be Theo’s adopters. That family had a 7-year-old son named Lucas who really wanted a dog. When Theo and Lucas met for the first time, there was an instant connection, and they bonded well.
There was no deliberating that had to be done when it came to Theo’s adoption. He got adopted soon after he met the family. Lucas excitedly showed Theo around the house and made him comfortable in his new home.
Elmo gave Theo a present before he parted ways with him. He gave the dog a toy shaped like a shoe, which is something that Theo enjoyed chewing. That toy would prevent him from taking real shoes and chewing them.
After a few weeks, Elmo got a message from Lucas. It was an update about Theo and how he’s adjusting to his new life. Lucas taught Theo how to sit, among other tricks. The boy also told Elmo that he wishes the other dogs in the shelter to get into a good home just like Theo.
