One would think that it’s easy for a dog to live in a small apartment. However, adjusting to certain living conditions might be difficult depending on its breed and upbringing. The two Jindos in the following story exemplify this dilemma.
Some time ago, a few Korean dog rescuers saved several Jindos from a dog farm. After that, the rescued dogs became available for adoption. Since Jindos aren’t in high demand compared to other breeds, they took some time to get adopted.
One Jindo, in particular, was lucky enough to be adopted by people who live in an apartment. The only problem is that he had a lot of adjusting to do. Aside from getting used to the living space, this dog called Clooney had to get along with his owner’s other dog, Princess.
Clooney is a very active and energetic dog, so it might seem like a small apartment isn’t the right place for him. Fortunately, an animal behavior expert confirmed that the size of the living space does not matter that much. If a dog is constantly getting exercise, it can live anywhere, whether spacious or tight.
The day finally came when Clooney had to meet his owner. He also met Princess for the first time outside of the apartment building. The two dogs showed signs of trying to intimidate and dominate each other. Because of that, a dog trainer had to assist Clooney’s new owner so she could walk both dogs together.
After a few minutes of walking, the two dogs finally got along. Then it was time for them to head to the apartment so Clooney could look at his new home. It was also an opportunity to see how Princess reacts if her new housemate touched her stuff.
Surprisingly, Princess had no negative reaction when Clooney was exploring the apartment. He even drank water from her food bowl, but she didn’t mind. That confirms that Clooney would likely have nothing to worry about in his new home.
