It is always heartwrenching to see animals abandoned. Many of us would take them home if we can provide for their immediate needs. But sometimes, it’s so much easier said than done, especially when the abandoned animal needs medical attention. Fortunately, there are local organizations like the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) that we can count on.
We could definitely consider it a blessing in disguise when this canine was abandoned in Louisiana. One of the staff at SPCA saw this abandoned pittie named Cow chained near their shelter one morning. Nene Lewis, the staff, shared that the dog seemed so scared and would let out a growl when people neared him. He was also quite skinny as he hadn’t eaten for days.
What’s even sadder is that Cow wasn’t microchipped which meant his owners wouldn’t be able to find him easily. Days passed and still, no one called to look for him.
As time passed, Cow grew fond of the people at SPCA. His scared boy image turned to be a sweet one. Everyone in the shelter grew fond of him and they were always happy to give him cuddles and belly rubs. He also grew healthier compared to how they saw him when he was chained to the fence.
After a few months, they discovered that his old family has been looking for him. The family’s posts had been circulating online saying that they were searching for Cow. It turned out, the pup was stolen from his family, and the one who stole him left him near the shelter. SPCA got in touch with the family who was excited to drive down to the shelter to take their long-lost pet home.
As seen in the video, the moment Cow saw his original owner by the glass window, he just kept on jumping in delight. If you watch his reaction in the heartwarming video, you will surely find yourself smiling the whole time. Cow was eventually showered with hugs and kisses in the arms of his family.
