Stan is a Brussels Griffon well-known for his loyalty and discipline. Even without a leash on, the small dog never walked off alone. Therefore, his owners were extremely surprised when he escaped their house in Dundee, Scotland.
The owners of the two-year-old dog immediately contacted family and friends for assistance in finding their pet. They also contacted dog groups online to help them with their quest. The disappearance of the dog went viral, and many people began searching for Stan.
The dog was originally seen crossing the multi-lane Tay Road Bridge which was a dangerous place. The street is where one can find many large vehicles passing through all throughout the day.
When the drivers observed the small dog enter the roadway, they all stopped their vehicles. Someone even attempted to help the dog cross, but she quickly fled.
Several other people who saw the dog said that Stan was hiding on the opposite side of the bridge. Despite the various clues given to them, the family was unable to find the dog. Experts worried that Stan may be in a state of survival and hiding from any human. The rescuers were also making a lot of noise, which was likely making the dog feel frightened.
The owners got the help from a search dog in an effort to locate their lost pet. Without the usual noise from the human rescuers, Stan was immediately located.
When the stray dog spotted his owners, he felt he was secure and raced toward them. He appeared quite happy to be reunited with the persons he loved and trusted.
A trip to the veterinarian revealed that the dog was healthy, despite having a tiny limp on one of his hind legs.
Once he came home, he resumed his normal routine, as if nothing untoward had happened.
