Senior dogs have the least chance to get adopted. When senior dogs are taken by animal control and housed in an animal shelter, they are often first on the list to euthanize. Animal shelters euthanize older dogs because they’re the least likely to get adopted.
A senior dog named Emma was neglected by her owner and ended up getting taken by animal control. Emma eventually ended up in an animal shelter where she was scheduled for euthanasia because of her age. Emma’s already 14-years-old, which meant that she’s already living the last years of her life.
Most of Emma’s life was spent living alone. Her owners left her outside to sleep in the dirt under the porch, and she never experienced playing with toys or even have her own bed. Emma never got any treats from her owner, and she never did experience companionship.
Now a senior dog, Emma was about to be euthanized without ever experiencing what it feels like to be loved and have a real family caring for her. Fortunately, Emma was pulled from the kill shelter by a rescue organization called Animals R Family Rescue. However, she needed someone to transport her from the kill shelter to her new foster home in New York.
This was when Flying Fur Animal Rescue stepped in. A man named Paul Steklenski is a pilot of Flying Fur Animal Rescue. Paul has safely transported rescue dogs and other animals to various animal rescue organizations. However, Emma’s case is very different, and Paul became emotional after flying Emma to her new home.
When Paul heard about Emma’s story, he knew Emma is special. Flying Emma to her new home meant that Emma would finally experience what it’s like to be part of a loving family. Emma will experience many firsts in her life, such as sleeping in a comfortable dog bed, playing with squeaky toys, and even getting treats and cuddles from the people around her.
Thinking about what’s in store for Emma after flying her to her new home, Paul couldn’t help but become emotional. Paul knew that he’s doing something special for his passenger, and Emma definitely deserves a new life. Paul spent only a little time with Emma, but Paul bonded with the senior dog, and he wanted the best for Emma’s future.
The rescue organization that pulled Emma from the shelter describes Emma as a sweet and gentle dog. Despite her horrible past, Emma still loves cuddling and giving people puppy kisses. The rescuers who meet Emma is sure that Emma won’t have a hard time finding a forever home. Here’s a heartwarming video featuring Paul flying Emma to her new home.
