There is a dental clinic based in California that uses a unique way that helps their patients relax during their visits.
The Corte Madera Family Dentistry is popular in their area because it employs a therapy dog that assists anxious and apprehensive patients during dental procedures. It is a 13-year-old Chihuahua named Kismet who assists dentist Dr. Cameron Garrett in calming his patients during their dental appointments.
Kismet helps lower the blood pressure of patients through the promotion of patient relaxation while they are in the dental chair.
Debra, the wife of Dr. Garrett, loves Kismet’s presence in the clinic. The adorable dog makes everyone in the office smile. She even has become an inspiration to the workers, encouraging them to consistently report to work.
Before being rehomed by Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California, Kismet was a stray dog. When she was first brought in to the shelter, she was in bad shape. Kismet had a malignant tumor, a hernia, and gum disease. She needed thousands of dollars in order to get medical help and recover.
Despite her difficult and traumatic history, Kismet still remains to be a kind and affectionate dog. She enjoys being petted and rarely barks.
Debra chose to adopt Kismet despite her advanced age because she and her husband prioritize quality over quantity of life. The couple has a passion for caring for elderly dogs.
Muttville Elderly Dog Rescue is devoted to providing senior canines with a second chance at life. Sherri Franklin, a rescue worker and animal champion, created the organization in 2007. Muttvile’s employees disseminated amazing and original information regarding the care of senior dogs in order to facilitate their adoption. Karma, Debra’s previous dog, is also from the same shelter.
You’re doing an amazing job in helping patients relax, Kismet! Keep up the outstanding work!
