One of the library employees in Chesapeake, Virginia saw a puppy that was abandoned in the woods. She quickly informed her coworkers about it, and the library staff decided to take action.
Sarah Lundblom was the one who saw the dog being discarded. She works at the Russell Memorial Library, and she witnessed the incident when she arrived at work early one morning.
A woman driving her car stopped near the location of the library. The woman abandoned her dog in the library’s side near the woods and then drove away.
The weather was extremely cold at the time, so Sarah made the decision to attempt to rescue the puppy and keep it safe and warm. However, the puppy was frightened and hid when Sarah attempted to entice it to approach her.
She wanted to help the puppy so much that she told her coworkers about it. The library staff was also eager to assist. They want to ensure the puppy’s safety and comfort. They did their best to gain the dog’s trust, and they were ultimately able to bring it to the library where it could get water and food and warmth.
They gave the puppy a jacket and used it to cover her. She was little and shivering. They also placed her on a blanket-covered piece of cardboard to keep her warm and ensure that she was comfortable. Additionally, they informed Chesapeake Animal Services about the puppy that they had just found and rescued.
That day, the puppy was pretty fortunate. See, the temperature was extremely low that day, and the puppy may not have survived if Sarah hadn’t been at work early.
The puppy is now available for adoption. The Chesapeake Animal Services are currently waiting for someone to adopt the dog and give it a forever home.
