The Bliss family in New Hampshire has a special bond with their dog, Ruger, who’s currently suffering from terminal cancer. To honor their beloved pet, the family decided to recreate a photo taken years ago of Dylan Bliss posing with Ruger as a puppy on his first day of first grade. On Dylan’s graduation day from Alvirne High School, the family took a similar photo with the now 11-year-old dog.
Ruger and the Bliss family shared many good times. The family also has thousands of photos of Ruger taken throughout the years, capturing all the special moments they’ve shared. Ruger is an important part of the Bliss family, and they have plans to take one last camping trip together this summer, which will most likely be Ruger’s last due to his declining health.
The love and bond between the Bliss family and Ruger are truly wonderful and demonstrate the special place that dogs hold in our lives. As a dog owner, the bond between you and your pet is hard to describe. Your dog is a constant companion, always there to offer love, comfort, and protection.
That’s why, when you learn that your dog has terminal cancer, you might feel a lot of sadness. But despite the devastation, a dog owner’s love for their dog never wavers. Owners of dogs diagnosed with terminal cancer will also do whatever they can to make sure their dog lives out his last days in comfort and happiness.
Some dog owners may also decide to create special memories with their dog during this time, such as taking a trip or recreating a memorable photo. Others may focus on providing their dog with a good quality of life, so they feed them well and take them on lots of walks. No matter what approach a dog owner takes, their love and care for their dog never waver.
