A woman named Sally Rewehooeern has endured many storms throughout her lifetime. And despite the fact that losing a beloved husband and living alone are big obstacles for her, she remains resilient and faces these challenges daily.
She had immigrated to the United States back in 1953 to start a new life, and luckily, she found a safe haven and a prosperous existence there. Now 92 years old, Sally lives a peaceful life. Even though she has managed to overcome the prior obstacles in her life, she continues to experience loneliness.
Her chances of reuniting with her children are dwindling given that they live in far and distinct locations. However, it appears that her desire for friendship will no longer be fulfilled by her children but by an unexpected source: a dog.
It all began when a fluffy puppy unexpectedly entered her backyard. But because the dog was not a nuisance, Sally welcomed and allowed it to roam freely throughout the house. Sally felt an instantaneous bond with the dog, and the dog responded in kind.
It appears that Sally’s ability to connect with a dog was not an accident but rather a natural talent. It turns out that as a child, Sally lived on a farm in Holland surrounded by dogs, which helped her develop and hone her ability to talk with them. And it is remarkable that, at her age, she still possesses this talent.
Sally questioned where the dog came from after its unexpected visit, and it turned out that it was not a stray but rather a canine belonging to a friend.
She learned that the dog’s name is Brody and that he is 15 weeks old. Brody joined his family after their Saint Bernard passed away. And they were saddened to learn that Brody had escaped from their home; after losing their San Bernard, the loss of another dog is surely distressing for them.
They were eventually relieved to learn that Brody ended up in Sally’s home, where they knew she would be treated with kindness and care. And it actually turns out to be an amazing blessing in disguise for Sally, as she revealed that Brody has brought her happiness she hasn’t had in years.
