If you enter Larkin Street Laundry, a laundromat, around closing time, an extra-special greeting might welcome you.
Every night, Cody, an eight-year-old golden retriever, helps his fur dad close the laundromat up. The goldie takes his job seriously: He naps on top of the laundry machines while his fur dad cleans up.
Fortunately, his dad is okay with Cody not being the best worker out there. According to Cody’s human sister, Stephanie, their dad has always taken their dogs to the laundromat with him to close it up. She said their old pooch loved sitting on the chairs and watching customers; however, Cody is more quick-witted than him.
The clever pooch found a way to climb to the big washers by climbing up from the chair to the smaller washing machines. Cody is a bit lazy and prefers lying down and waiting for treats and pets.
The golden retriever has become the laundromat’s main attraction, making the customers’ waiting time more enjoyable. And this works out for Cody as he loves getting attention from people and prefers that they come to him. The pooch loves doing what he wants.
And from the top of the big washers, Cody gets to watch everything going on.
His sister thinks that he likes the view from the top of the washers and seeing everyone at eye level. She also said that Cody is quite snobby for a dog, so she thinks that he feels just like a king when he’s up there.
After years of service in his dad’s laundromat, Cody has already become quite the local celebrity. Aside from that, he has also been the subject of some funny memes.
However, the good boy does not let fame distract him from his job. After all, the laundromat will not be the same without him.
