Serenity, a four-year-old Siberian Husky, might not look like most dogs, but she was energetic. She did not care what the world thought about her appearance as long as she was happy. Even though she had a rough past as a stray dog in San Antonio, Texas, she remained cheerful. Apart from her sad past, she also had a large tumor on her face, which deterred people from adopting her.
Since the Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform wanted to give her another chance at life, she was taken to Dallas, hoping to find her a foster mom. Luckily, it did not take long for Serenity to make her dream of having a forever home come true because as soon as Patti Dawson saw her, she could not resist her unique charm. Unfortunately, due to Serenity’s tumor, Patti was unsure how much time the loving dog had left. When she was brought to the veterinarian, they confirmed that she had an invasive tumor that had already taken away her facial bones and nasal cavity.
The tumor even reached her skull and eye sockets, but she could breathe, see, and eat. Many dog lovers expressed their concern as the cancer might have brought Serenity so much pain. Surprisingly, she showed no signs of discomfort, but she was well aware that her condition could change. Patti was hopeful that Serenity would get the life she deserved in the end, and while waiting for that moment to come, she made the dog’s remainder of time extra special.
Patti had been spoiling Serenity by giving her delicious food and playtime. She also hired a photographer to take Serenity’s beautiful photos to encourage people to donate. At the moment, Serenity is living her best life, and when her photo and story were shared on social media, she became an instant celebrity. Donations also poured in, and she was overjoyed by all the presents she received.
