Hazel was a dog who belonged to the Mathis family from Iowa. She was a cheerful one who enjoyed performing tricks. Hazel would be the magician Houdini’s apprentice if he had one.
Monica, Hazel’s fur mom, invited her dog to play in the yard one day. The fur mom went inside to use the restroom after a while and left Hazel on a leash. When she returned, she was surprised to find that her beloved puppy had vanished!
The family searched in every direction for their dog. They were unable to locate their pet, much to their dismay.
After some time, they eventually relocated to Minnesota. The prospect of reconnecting with Hazel appeared even bleaker at this point. The Mathis family eventually moved on with their lives without Hazel.
One day, Monica came upon an ad for a beer company that featured adoptable pets on its cans. She was astonished when she saw a familiar face on the can while looking at the dogs. She saw a photo of Hazel!
Monica attentively read the ad, which stated that the dog’s name was DayDay. She contacted the shelter right away. Then she showed all of the images she had of her dog, Hazel, as proof that DayDay was her dog.
Monica learned from Manatee County Animal Services that Hazel arrived as a stray dog a few months ago. Her microchip was outdated when they checked her, so they were unable to reunite her with her owner. Monica is perplexed as to how a dog might get from Iowa to Florida.
Hazel was eventually adopted from the shelter. She was one of the canines photographed by the beer company for the purpose of helping the dogs get adopted. She had been a long-term resident there.
The Mathis family was overjoyed and grateful. It had all started as a dream and had now turned into reality.
Friends of Manatee County Animal Services assisted in Hazel’s arrival in Minnesota. Finally, Hazel will be able to celebrate her 7th birthday with them!
This story of Hazel should serve as a wake-up call to all dog owners to be extra cautious when handling their pets. It is preferable to have an updated microchip for them. Make sure you include all of the relevant information. Shelters would know how to reach you if something happened to your dog.
