According to mother Melissa Nixon, it took a long time for her and her family to choose the appropriate dog for their family since they had children. Since Golden Retrievers are known to be good with children, the Nixon family discovered Bentley as their ideal pet.
When the Nixon children began attending school and riding the school bus, Bentley was confused to see the huge yellow vehicle outside. The dog did not trust the bus driver, so he became protective of the children. It’s as though he’s warning the driver against harming the children or bringing them to dangerous places, where the kids should not be.
When he guides the children to their school bus, Bentley’s face comes with a stern expression, in contrast to his cheerful and active demeanor when he is inside their home. This is because he simply wishes to ensure the children’s safety.
Since Melissa’s children informed the bus driver about Bentley’s suspicions, the driver always greets the dog whenever he stops at the Nixon residence. He does this to ensure the dog that he would be taking care of the kids and no harm would come to them.
Melissa disclosed that Bentley is a playful, friendly, and gentle dog. He is usually a delightful companion and a quick learner.
According to experts, Golden Retrievers have a service-oriented disposition. They are also empathic because they recognize when someone is in distress or needs assistance. Many dog trainers assert that Golden Retrievers require little training because it is in their nature to work and assist humans.
It’s such a nice feeling when dogs effortlessly display their affection to humans. Bentley has shown the family and everyone else that despite being a dog, he will always be the family’s guardian and he would ensure that he takes care of everyone.
