Bulldogs are one of the most sought-after breeds in the world. Because of the significantly large demand for Bulldogs, many enterprising people are resorting to backyard breeding to make some money by selling the puppies. Many are uneducated about proper and ethical breeding techniques, which usually results in puppies being born with congenital issues.
A Bulldog puppy named Beuller was abandoned by a breeder at the Sacramento SPCA. At six weeks old, little Beuller was unable to walk because of a congenital defect resulting from bad breeding practices. In most cases, Beuller would have been euthanized.
However, at only six-weeks-old, the rescuers felt sorry for little Beuller and they could see that Beuller wanted to live. Despite not being able to walk, he still wanted to have fun and play. There was no way his rescuers and people caring for him would say yes to euthanasia.
Beuller’s rescuers tried everything to help him walk again. They did water therapy, attached him to wheels, and other exercises to strengthen his back legs. Eventually, Beuller’s rescuers’ hard work paid off when Beuller took his first real steps by himself.
When the rescuers and volunteers at the SPCA first saw Beuller walk, everyone was crying happy tears. At that moment, they knew that Beuller was going to have a good life. When Beuller was healthy enough, he was finally ready to go to his forever home.
A family who lost their dog a few months back missed having a dog in the house. They missed the snores, the nails tapping on the floor, and those warm and fuzzy cuddles that can only be given by a dog. When the family learned about Beuller, they didn’t hesitate and applied to adopt little Beuller.
The night before the family was going to get Beuller, the family couldn’t even sleep because of the excitement. Beuller was a little timid on the first couple of days in his forever home. However, Beuller became even more confident as days and weeks went by with his new family.
Beuller also had surgery on his back legs to make them even stronger. Now, Beuller is living the best days of his life with his new family. Here’s an inspiring video that tells the story of Beuller overcame all odds and given a second chance.
