A Michigan puppy that endured one of the most difficult beginnings to his existence now has the loving home he deserves.
It all started when the Jackson County animal control officials reacted to a frightening complaint. A good Samaritan reported spotting a little dog isolated in a black wire cage in a nearby river.
The pit bull puppy was thankfully rescued soon enough by animal control and taken to the Jackson County Animal Shelter for care. The shelter staff and volunteers observed that it was fortunate that the pup, estimated to be between 5 and 6 months old, was saved before the rains severely flooded the cage.
Jackson County Animal Shelter spokesperson Lydia Sattler noted that the pit bull puppy, now named VanBuren, had a broken front-right leg and many abrasions when he was taken in. VanBuren is a very nice and loving pup that is full of wiggles and licks and still loves people and wants to be the best dog ever. Sattler also stated that VanBuren appeared content just to be around people.
The puppy also had a very infectious and positive personality that it quickly found a new home. According to Sattler, the adoptive family fell in love with him at first sight. However, the shelter has declared that it will continue to give VanBuren all the medical treatment it needs while he recuperates in his new home. Things are slowly changing for VanBuren and they are changing for the better.
On Facebook, thousands of people shared VanBuren’s tale, which attracted thousands of responses, the majority of which were from individuals who were ready and willing to adopt the dog. Additionally, the shelter claimed that pit bulls are the most common breed in every shelter and they should not be overlooked by people who would like to adopt a dog.
