Every animal in this world has something to bring to the table when it comes to amazing things. Whether it’s impressive intelligence, athletic capabilities, or mesmerizing colors, every animal has something incredible to offer.
When it comes to the capabilities of searching for lost people and saving their lives, search and rescue dogs have the bragging rights of being capable of doing these types of things. And one of these heroic dogs is a German Shepherd named Küsse, whose abilities are already proven by her performance during various life-saving missions.
Küsse lives in Sheffield, Alabama, with her owner and trainer, Cory Speegle. They have been partners in life since she was still a puppy; that’s why it’s no wonder that she grew up as a very skilled life-saver dog.
Also, Speegle’s strict and rigid training is one of the biggest reasons Küsse became a very capable search and rescue dog. Her training includes boat training to find lost bodies in the water, advanced building searches, and series of search and rescue classes.
One great thing about Küsse’s owner, Speegle, is that his desire to save lives does not start and end with their training and rescue missions. His noble desire goes beyond these things because he also volunteers as a firefighter for the Spring Valley and White Oak Fire Department. That is why Küsse has always been inspired to follow his lead every step of the way.
Küsse’s impressive career
One of Küsse’s rescue missions included rescuing a 20-year-old marathon runner who was lost in a storm and locating a 6-year-old kid who was lost in a cemetery. And whenever Küsse locates younger kids, she doesn’t leave them alone. Instead, she stays with the kids and waits for her human companions to locate her through the GPS device strapped on her.
While Küsse is not obviously seeking any recognition for her life-saving missions, her capabilities and performance are just too impressive not to be given any rewards. That is why half a million people have nominated her for the prestigious American Humane Dog Hero competition in the Search and Rescue category. But for Küsse and Speegle, their newfound popularity is just a bonus. What’s more important for the duo is to fulfill their duty to rescue people’s lives in every mission.
